Hiragana in App

So I’m new to memrise and enjoying it very much.
I’m an university student so I travel 2-3 hours a day by train and like to do something useful then. So I decided on lerning japanese. I noticed that I can type hiragana in the web version, but in the app it doesn’t accept them as valid.
I’m currently doing the “Introduction to Japanese” and “Learn Basic Japanese” by jlptbootcamp. I’m using IME on both devices.
For example: when I have to type an あ because the voice said it, on the homepage: no problem, in the app: NOPE. It’s said, because I’d like to learn on the way too. And I don’t find it very… satisfying to just type a when he says a…

Am I doing something wrong or is the app just a little behind?

When you say that the app doesn’t accept it, does it mark you as wrong or does it just not accept it and waits for you to type something else?

I’m also thinking that this may be an issue only for the audio questions. Could you check and see if that’s the case?

It says it’s wrong…
And yes I mean the audio questions. I did not yet find any questins where I need to type hiragana that are not audio based.

Here you see that it tells me my answer is wrong.

From the screenshot you have provided, you are being prompted with kana character and must answer with the romanized characters.

The creator of the course expects you to type the romanized characters. This is why the hiragana is not being accepted.

Further down the courses you’re learning (Learn basic Japanese and Introduction to Japanese), you will then be prompted with English and tested on Japanese.

On the homepage it works so I thought it should also do in the app, but I’m going to be patient!
