Global Leaderboard?

Is there a Global Leaderboard somewhere?

I if so, why is it not available from the dashboard?

I don’t really have any friends who use Memrise as actively as I do, so it would be great to be able to compare my progress with that of other people.

I also think there should probably be one for the all the level of a given Official Memrise Language course.

That kind of thing would really help with motivation!

Any chance this might be added to the dashboard as well?

Like I said, I don’t really have anyone else to compare my progress to. Something like this would make a huge difference for me.

If you get friends you could start comparing results if you like that kind of co-operating competition.

The outside service is fine. The numbers are skewed anyway due to cheating bots and cheating tricks.

They could always make showing it an option in the settings.

I know that there are bots etc, but I’m not trying to reach the top of the leaderboard. Only to track my own progress.

You can already track the leaderboard in each individual course, so I don’t see why a cumulative score is so unreasonable.

Perhaps the leaderboard could exclude Decks courses, and you show points from official Memrise courses to avoid ‘inflation’. They could even make that a toggle as well.

You could track your progress against other course takers per day, month and total. It does not cover all the courses across all the possible courses in Memrise but that’s already something maybe worth tracking – personally I don’t like competing with others but rather with myself.

And you shouldn’t have to.

But I’m pretty sure I’m not the only person who likes to track my progress this way.

I think it’s reasonable to implement it as an optional feature. And I don’t see why the team wouldn’t agree since they already do it at the level of the individual courses.

Meanwhile, https://memstats.com works really well.
