German words

hey there! my girlfriend and I are both learning German together through memrise, but we are taught with different words, for example, I was taught that lets go is Los geht’s, but she was taught lass uns gehen(?)

May I know if this is an intended thing?

There are many many German courses on the memrise site and app, can you give us a link to the courses you are using?

There are many different ways to say many different things in German just like in English or any language.

I will give an example in German…
Wie stehen die Aktien?
Was hast du da wieder angestellt?
Wie gehts?
etc

these all mean how is it going…
This gets even further complex with regions and dialects.
Servus is extremely popular in Bavaria and Austria. Means hi and bye. Rooted in latin I believe, related to slave. Interesting history. Moin moin is Norddeutsch, and I heard it all the time in Hamburg. Means hi. Don’t cross them, because they will look at you like you are retarded.

hi there Amanda! I am not so sure on how to give you the link on which course I am doing, but I selected the one that was on the main page of the memrise app when I first logged in.

hi Geil! thanks for the reply, I understand that. I was just wondering if it was part of the app to teach different words and later on explain that there may be other words that mean the same thing? we are trying to practice conversation and we realized that memrise was teaching us different words so we got a little lost.

This one?

Because the more efficient way to report problems or ask questions about a specific course is to use the forum that is attached to that course.

But I assume you must be doing different courses if you are getting different phrases?
