IMHO, a suggestion to improve the translation to FR.
More than once, I saw translation of Japanese words of noon type translated with the use of a French verb. For instance, the last one with that kind of case:
そうじ : nettoyer; laver (action); ménage.
In French mind, it’s not in use to make nominalization out of context. In the present case:
- laver (action). French speaking people could think reading that: “of course ‘laver’ is an action, than where is the trap”. In state of use “(action)” I suggest you use really the indication it’s really the noon adding a definite article: “le laver” . Shorter way to write and memorize it.
- Unfortunately “nettoyer” never is nominalizated (one can’t say "le nettoyer de…). So in that case I thing you can forgot it, because we have already 2 definitions very complete in their sense.
So “そうじ : le laver; ménage” would be less “strange”, but really the best would be to avoid completely “verb” in noon definition and it’s possible. In our case it could be: そうじ : nettoyage; lavage; ménage. more easy to understand and memorise
