Not sure this is appropriate here, but I thought giving it a chance seeing several people here are in Seoul given the fact they attend(ed) the Sogang classes.
I’m thinking of starting Korean - French conversation meetings through informal dinners on the weekends.
Primarily for me to practice my Korean and for my wife to improve her French.
Instead of going through the usual language exchange groups that end up talking English anyhow, I have been playing with this idea for a while.
So, are you a native French speaker learning Korean? Or do you know of Koreans that are learning french?
Leave me a message. Thanks.
Are you still looking for someone as described? I know someone who is a native French speaker and level 6 Korean. I can ask him. Are you willing to pay for his services?
We have actually already started these meetups. Not a frequent base, but we’ve had three official ones (we actually started meeting up outside of the group too as some people became friends).
I think there is some misunderstanding from my old message, this is a give and take approach, without, in principle, any money involved. We just make sure it breaks even for every one when food is involved.
The last meetup was a potluck so no money involved at all.
Everyone benefits, as the french speakers get to interact with korean speakers, and vice versa.
He’s welcome to join our next gathering. No date set yet, but I hope to decide on the next dinner soon.
Of course, if he’s fluent in both, he might not deem it worth his time
Hope this clarified my initial message (I actually forgot about posting it here).
Thanks for your reply. Glad you found a solution. No hes not gonna show up since he is fluent in both but he would be willing to help you out but only for a fee. It’s what he does. That’s why. But since its not needed anymore I just wish you good luck with your studies!
