Do you have an interest in learning French or does another language take your fancy

I tried learning French a few years ago, but only because I have a lot of family in France and I wanted to communicate. Didn’t go well  So I gave up unfortunately, and I doubt i’ll try again. I’m learning Portuguese right now, and it’s heaps easier because my Mum and grandparents are fluent, and speak to us in it at home, and that helps me out with the accents and stuff.

Coool, is Indonesian harder than French?

Indonesian is easier than French, but I’ve been doing Indonesian longer than French and being taught Indonesian by a teacher makes it easier too, so it’s sort of hard to say.

Right. It’s a lot easier when you have someone to correct you. I went to South America for three months and my Spanish improved a heap because I was literally FORCED to talk to my cousins there or stand around awkwardly. It was a nice experience.

I’ve heard that it’s easier to learn the language when you visit a country where everyone speaks that language because that’s all you hear, that reminds me of the episode of the Simpsons when Bart goes to France and learns fluent French

Yes, that’s true. I was meant to go to Portugal this year and I hoped I would get better at the language! But now the trip is cancelled for now :frowning:
Lol, I watched that episode too.

Yeah Covid 19 came along and cancelled everybody’s plans and all the big events, my Indonesian class was supposed to go to our sister school in Java but that got cancelled too

There are so many places in the world I want to visit! I like writing, and seeing different places would be brilliant inspiration.
