When I start a Listening Ability session, the first exercise only plays half of the sound and when I click to listen again, it never works. It happens every time.
I’m using the latest APP version in Android 7.0 (Huawei Honor 9)

Same here. Huawei P10 lite, Android 7.0.
Looks like the problem happen every time I start a lesson and the first item automatically plays a sound. The sound is always played by half.
But it get’s worse when the first question is a sound which you have to guess the text version of it, in this case the sound never plays again when I press the speaker icon and the only way to proceed is to randomly pick an answer.
We are waiting for URGENT solution for this problem.
2 months passed still problem continue.
I have Android 7 and experienced the same problem as well. I have found a work around for this which seems to work until the bug is fixed. If you minimize the app then reopen it the full audio will play correctly and you can answer the question. Hope this helps.

Same here, but it plays MUCH less than half the sound. Sometimes sound will play for the tiniest fraction of a second, sometimes there’s no sound just the visual indication that a sound is “playing”.
The problem never occurs on later pages/screens of that activity, just the first activity and just when it auto-plays.

We’re looking into it. I can confirm this is a bug and I’ve been investigating this bug for a while.
This is not the ideal solution but it’s the only work around which will allow the audio to play.

Hey everyone, we’ve released a fix for this bug.
We were able to determine the cause and squash it. Starting a new session from the end of session screen caused the first audio in the screen to be stopped halfway through.
Please update to the latest version in the play store and let me know if the problem still exists or not.
Hopefully, it’s gone for good.

now this bug is killing me in the web version… the first sound never plays, if one has bad luck and memrise pushes first a listening item… is there a separate thread for this?
Hey, can you please provide a bit more information such as what course you are using, browser and if you are using any custom script to change the behaviour of the website.
I had a quick look and when I started a listening skill session, the audio played fine.

this happens in ALL courses i’m taking, and not only on listening skills. Since today if I click repeatedly on the sound icon I elicit an answer/audio in some 60-70% of the cases, but not always.
I do use some scripts, but none of them is audio-related… and did not have any problems of this kind until 3 days ago…

I had a look and the audio played fine on my browser. I used Google Chrome to test.
Which browser are you using and can you please check if this issue still happens using incognito?

In the following picture, the orange block indicated the sound button of
the word. But it hasn’t worked when we clicked on that for repeating the
sound. Please solve the problem.
