I’ve just switched to Lubuntu from Windows and I found a strange change on Memrise: the female voice in the official French courses is now much louder than the male one. When the male is quiet enough that I’m tempted to turn the volume up a little, the female is so loud I’d almost want to turn it down.
The difference isn’t unbearable, but it’s very noticeable, while on the very same computer on Windows the voices had roughly the same volume. I have no funny settings in my equalizer. 
Does anyone have any idea what’s going on?
Edit: the various voices from the little videos of the natives are roughly as loud as the standard male voice.
