I loaded up Memrise on my Android phone this morning, accepted the new post-GDPR privacy policy and then went to use the app as usual.
What I would refer to together as the “feedback” sounds have suddenly become very quiet indeed. “Feedback” sounds what I call the noises you get for answering a question correctly or incorrectly, completing a level or goal etc.
They used to be the same volume as the speech, now they’re very much quieter and even when using headphones so that the speech sounds are played at a comfortable conversational volume, the feedback sounds are muffled and almost inaudible.
It’s very disconcerting to go from loud speech - muffled feedback - loud speech - muffled feedback - etc throughout an entire lesson.
Is this a bug or a feature introduced with the latest update? Can you restore the feedback sounds to the same volume as the speech? Or do I have a problem with my android phone?
EDIT: That was strange. Just did another “Learn new words” session with the problem present, then force-closed the app, reloaded it and found that the problem had disappeared. Phew!
