I am from Poland and I started to learn Czech and Slovak. Languages are very similar and sometimes questions work both ways, and I don’t know whether I translate “from Polish” or “to Polish”. Especially when short words have similar but slightly different mining.

I know that usually it is unnecessary but for me it is a bit frustrating when I don’t know, or make mistake because I had to guess.

It would be helpful to have this information. Small flag or something like that would do the trick.

You make a good point (though I don’t know the languages, I can imagine what you write).

What I do in such case, I’d some extra info to the language of origin:

French - English
attends - wait
(french for attends) - attends (Eng)
cent - hundred
cent - cent (1/100 of a dollar)
