Hello Everyone and the Memrise team,
I have been using Memrise for quite a while now and for me, I find the mems are not really usable.
The mems show up during the learn new words sessions. Here you can create a mem, which is good. However after this, they only show up when I answer incorrectly and then click a link that says help me remember this. Here the thing that makes you help remember the word is hidden and you get the word first. I think that a much better approach would be to have a “give a hint” button, that displays your selected mem and see if you can construct it from there. In this way you train also for the mnemonic making the hook stronger and easier for recall. Using the hint button will half the amount of points earned or something like that.
