I just found that site and want to share it. There are tons of folklores and fairy tales, all with audio and text. Japanese-only content like that should be a good opportunity to jump into real literature / usage after getting intermediate knowledge in vocabulary and grammar. Just choose whatever you like from the left side under まいにちの昔話.

To be honest, I don’t recommend english translations with kana-only texts. It’s like missing a half and having to go back later again, which is a typical waste of efficiency often seen in N5/N4. Take your time, do the Kanji. You’ll need them. Do the translation by yourself. That’s the best practice. Maybe it’s just a matter of getting used to it, but whenever I see a kana-only text, my brains goes into full blockade. Native texts are not written in kana-only and I’ve jumped straight into Kanji from the very beginning, so kana-only texts are a pain, if not to say unintelligible to me. That could be personal preference though.

I do agree but for listening practice I don’t think Kanji is that important in the beginning stages.
