Exaggerated number of difficult words

One course:

Another course:

Literally 5 minutes ago it was at 0. Similar thing happened to other courses.
When I review it I get 150 points for each item, instead of 65, which is normally the maximum amount from difficult word.

I have a similar problem in half of my courses…

edit: in almost all my courses

Hi, did you previously use the auto learn feature in those courses?

I have had a few “difficult words” appear today that weren’t showing as difficult words before and that I haven’t reviewed/watered recently. On checking, I also found this, which doesn’t look right as these weren’t showing as “difficult words” before, either:

I haven’t used the auto learn feature at all.

Same here. I caught up with a backlog of reviews yesterday and decided to have a go at my difficult words. For one course, I can’t clear them because it seems like the whole course has been dumped out as ‘difficult’.

i have two courses where the whole number if items learned appeard now as “difficult words”…

Same problem here, the difficult words went from about 20 to 420 in one night.

Same problem on 2 of my courses. I went from 2 to 1006 on my kanji course, and somewhere between 0-5 on another course to over 529. Happened overnight. I’ve never used auto learn before on any course ever.

This has essentially taken away the difficult words feature for me. I don’t have time to do that many reviews. I’m going to stop paying for pro and ignore difficult words altogether if this isn’t fixed.

any news on this? i have courses listing in difficult words items that I never got wrong

It looks like we’re going to be ignored by memrise. But i’ve figured out a solution… sort of. Click into the course, and next to levels there’s difficult words. Download an auto clicker. I used this one.

http://gs-auto-clicker.soft112.com/download.html

Set it to click at intervals of 2 seconds forever until stopped. Any faster than 2 seconds and it’ll automatically go back to the dashboard for some reason after a short while. Just set it and walk away until it’s done unchecking every difficult word.

Many thanks for your reports. Our developers are looking into it right now.

Can you kindly confirm whether you learn using the website, iOS App and/or Android App?

Website.

None of those difficult words appear on the Android App, even after reinstalling.

website here.

Did you learn those courses on the website exclusively?

Or did you learn it on the website as well as on the Android App or iOS App?

It’s important for our developers to know whether you only accessed and learned the course in the website or if that course was accessed via multiple platforms.

We’re getting there, thanks for your help and patience :raised_hands:

There was another bug before (not anymore though, I tried to reproduce it when the obscene number of difficult words – over 10000 – showed up and so I had nothing to lose), and I believe this is a consequence of that one.

When you clicked on “Restart” on just a single level, the learning histories were cleared on the whole course. That said, their “learned” or “not learned” status remained, but the Accuracy column went down to 0/0.

They did not show up as difficult words, but on Android if you list out a level the tiny lightning bolt is switched on next to them – but they are still not listed as difficult there.

@Lien The first one from my screenshot if almost in fully done on Android app and the second was done only on website (maybe I have watered some items once or two, but planted only on website)

Those “difficult” words just appeared few minutes before I posted. I don’t think they are being still added.

Apologies for the hiccup with the difficult word counter.

Thanks for helping our developers narrow down the problem. Those ridiculous amount of difficult words have been removed and replaced with its original value.

Happy Learning :penguin:

Many thanks for timely resolution.

Oh wow, it was fixed! thanks! I just got on to continue using the auto clicker to clear up the rest of the difficult words, only to find it was resolved.
