I have experienced the loading of pages and review sessions not only taking some time recently, but also displaying the information in a weird format for a split second on the left.
Now the worst issue, in the past, embedded links eg to other courses, are no longer showing the course or description. (It is just showing the link).
Many thanks for your reply @Joshua but as you may be aware I have been learning and supporting courses for some 4 years and it’s only recently that they are not working. Ie they always used to work.
It was in fact working in May (2017) when I produced this course (which contains links with the S and without the S at the end of http):
So are you saying, now there is no way for the link to show the icon and course details. (Unless I cut and paste obviously). Do you know what changed and why?
Regarding issue “1” (the slow loading and the brief display on the left), yes there is always a slow delay, which is a new issue.
Many thanks for your reply Alan, I just wanted someone else to say they remember using or seeing them as @joshua is, I think, implying they never did work; yet I know they were still working up to a month or so ago when I created that “10 Plagues” course. So something must have changed.
It’s rather sad as that was a great way to advertise other courses of interest as “follow on” courses, as people could read about it before clicking the link.
Perhaps I haven’t described it clearly or perhaps it was a nice benefit that you were unaware of.
Unfortunately I can not send you a screen-shot nor do I have one, but I know all my “What next?” levels would display (within a border) the logo and first part of the description when I typed:
^^^^embed:http etc (where ^^^^ is actually four spaces).
I am trying to find someone else who also used to use them to vouch for this.
I think many of the “Easy Academy” courses I supported showed it.
I took the links from Level 5 in your 10 Plagues course, and they all opened up to the courses referenced in each link, as well as the final link that went to your Profile page. This is wonderful news !
(BTW, these are all wonderful courses, in case any other Memrisers reading this post want to learn from them).
There can be no doubt that embedded links are truly supported now. Thanks for sticking to your guns on this one. Have a blessed day !
@DW7 ~ I concur with your assessment. The links work, but they don’t expand. I tried several of them from within a couple of your courses. They did expand the other day (as noted above in this thread). Hopefully they can again soon.
