Email or username rejected by Memrise as incorrect

On rare occasions students tells me that they can’t log in because their email or username is not accepted by Memrise. They insist that they haven’t changed anything and that they are using the same details that worked for them before. Is this possible? If so what should they do? Advice gratefully received.

The next time this happens, you could try going to www.memrise.com/user/[student’s_username_here], which should show you the student’s profile page if their user exists. For example, my profile is at www.memrise.com/user/neoncube, since “neoncube” is my username.

No luck, neoncube. I just get “The page you are trying to get to doesn’t exist.” Thanks anyhow.

@brianhanney, If you get that message and you’re sure that you entered their username correctly, then it means that that username isn’t in the system.

Another thing that you could do is go to the all-time leaderboards for the course and have the student look over the names there. Assuming that they learned words even once, their username should be there.

I think that in this case, I’d doubt the student before the system

You could be right about the student.
