If oneself and one other person take on a course as contributors, can both work on the course ‘whenever’ or does one need to ensure the other person is not currently working on that course?
You can both work on it at any time, but you may want to coordinate so you don’t work on the same things simultaneously and screw things up for each other by making conflicting changes. Every change you make is instant, for that one database item - so for example if you change word A while the other person changes word B, both your changes go in.
However, memrise doesn’t auto-refresh what you see on your screen if someone else edited it, until you load a new page (or reload the page). So if you open a level for editing and someone else changes a word on that level, you’ll still see the old value as it was when you first loaded that level to edit; you won’t see that they changed it. And if you click on that word, which opens the edit field, even if you don’t change anything and then just click on a different word, it’ll be as if you just edited that word again and saved the old value, so you’ll overwrite whatever change they made without knowing they ever made it. And they won’t even see that their change got reversed, until the next time they load a new page with that word on it and notice that it’s the old value (if they notice).
Thanks so much @cos - that’s very helpful. With the course I’m talking about I believe we’re “all good”, because the other contributor (@timangleterre) is working on the audio and myself on the words. The course itself is very good (French Verbs by Alexpgp). The frustration has been with the synomyns and only a 50% (or less) chance of selecting the right one! Thank you again.
