Early Access now on iOS and Android?

It seems that there is an app-update for iOS and Android which includes access to the “Early Access experience”.

Has anybody installed it yet and can shed any insight as to whether the update breaks anything? I’m curious but too wary (not sure why) and thus hesitant to look for the update on Google Play …

Here’s what I accidentally stumbled over just a few minutes ago (not sure why there hasn’t been an official statement yet):

Nothing has materially changed. Only the pictures were updated in that article as far as I can tell.
If you are not in early access you will not suddenly be dropped in by updating your app, the same way you haven’t been for the last 6 months.
Early access will be made available to all users in a couple of weeks when we will have announcements and it will be opt in
