DuoLingo Dutch, part II

First off, really appreciate all the hard work that has gone into the course so far. I have two improvements I would like to see, though we are still waiting for Team Memrise to give us the tools to implement them.

  1. Merge with part 1 which was created by a different user.

  2. Add more acceptable answers or include “the” in the English prompt. As it stands, simply forgetting “het” or “de” can kill weeks of work. Adding acceptable answers would make it consistent with the first DuoLingo course and users could still test themselves on “de” and “het” if they wanted (because “het vijand” is of course incorrect for “enemy”). Alternatively, to include “the” in the English prompt would be better. ie: “THE enemy” = “de vijand”. Not “enemy” = “de vijand” which is quite counterintuitive.

Course creator zachteregen is inactive for now, but I imagine Team Memrise will be watching new topics in their new forum quite closely. Team Memrise - please implement the changes that have been “planned” for years now so that we can improve these courses together.

  1. you could ask to the team o the creator her/himself to add you as a curator/contributor, and add the alternative answers yourself

  2. courses cannot be merged, just because somebody is asking for. And probably there are some/many users disliking very long courses - for short: other users might not endorse your wish…

Hello! I’d love to do it myself. The course creator is inactive though. This is why I remind Team Memrise that users need the ability to merge, copy, transfer and share courses. We’ve been asking for these tools for years.

Hi there, I’m actually still an active contributor on Part 1. I’d be willing to merge Part 2 into Part 1. I could do it manually(ish). However, if the course creator were active that would help. I’m actually not that far into the Dutch course so I can’t confirm whether this section of the course is complete but it seems to reach the end of the course. This is the first I’ve heard of this Part 2 course and I’m very grateful it exists. I’ll start merging into Part 1 to combine the two courses.

Cheers feanarosurion! I’m happy to help out with some data entry too, just let me know.
