Don't show attributes before answering question?

I have been using the Japanese 1 course created by memrise. However, I don’t like that it shows the “attributes” for each question. How is that not essentially displaying the answer? Am I not using the course the way it was meant to? The course does accept answers in forms other than romaji. I think it would be really nice if there was a way to disable the attribute section displaying before you have answered the question, unless there is something I don’t understand about how the course is meant to be used.

-btw, if the word or phrase has kanji, then I obviously don’t know it yet, but for everything else it essentially gives the answer away.

If I understand what you are asking, it is showing you the word/pharse in romaji it wants you to type it in hiragana. You will need to change your IME to Japanese and hiragana to be able to type

No, the question itself is giving away the answer. I attached a screenshot and circled the concern in red.

Sure, part of it is kanji (at least in this example), but otherwise it is effectively giving me the answer!

In the earlier stages of the course, before you start kanji, this essentially renders the question pointless. You need to deliberately avoid looking at part of the screen.

Is there a way to turn this off, at least?

There is no way (as far as I know) for a learner to hide attributes that are set to always show on a course.

Since it concerns the Memrise course it is best to post here: [Course Forum] Japanese 1-7 by Memrise

Hmmm. OK, posted there.

Synecdochenz,

Thank you for posting over there for me. I really appreciate it. Hopefully something is done about this.
