We all learn something from the persons we’re talking with. I like discovering people and their culture, this always opens new discussions and keep you talking. Well, of course, I think it’s possible. But I’m against Dating a girl in order to get some benefit from her. And I probably wouldn’t do it because of my moral principles. I’m for love. So it will be great if there are real feelings between you. And as a bonus for her is that she will be able to improve her English with you . Especially if you use quotes from Urban family talk to communicate with her. And she, in her turn, will teach you Italian. So, I have heard that Italian girls are very beautiful, well- mannered, economic, caring and they are very good at preparing dishes of their country. Because they take recipes from their grandmothers and they learn this from childhood… Thus, I don’t think you want to leave a girl who matches my description… Because such a girl is every guy’s dream.
I’ve been married to a Croatian woman for 3 years and she taught me very little. I live in Croatia now and the only way I’ve been able to speak as much as I do is by paying for and attending an intensive class (plus hours and hours of vocab and grammar study out of class). My mother in law also takes a lot of time to speak slowly and clearly to me using standard dialect.
However, most of what I know I’ve learned myself. Not everyone is a good teacher, and your partner might not have the patience to constantly answer all your questions about the language and may not know the answers anyway. The best way to learn a language is with someone who’s willing to teach you, which usually means hiring a teacher or at least doing a kind of language exchange where you tutor someone in your native language and they teach you Italian.
Also, you’re probably not going to learn a whole lot just speaking to someone until you’re at a relatively advanced level. I can as a native english speaker learn new words and phrases on the fly and easily memorize them, but not so with Croatian. It’s much more effective to learn in a class and drill, drill, drill.
So in the end, can you find an Italian girl online who wants to date you (remotely I assume?) and also teach you Italian patiently? Perhaps, but you’d probably be better off taking a class, becoming conversational in Italian, then find someone to be romantic with apart from learning.
