Do my primary age students need an email acct?

Do my students need their own email account to join my group? I teach mostly primary school students so they will not have their own email. If they do need an email account is there a way to create a bulk group of email addresses?

Thanks!

I’m no authority on how they do it now, but it used to be that you sent group invites out via email (and prayed they didn’t get relegated to people’s spam folders). So, on that basis, I would say a hesitant yes, they will need one.

Do the schools in question have a self-hosted address? I know most universities and colleges do, and I seem to recall my secondary did (we automatically had an address this way), but I’m not sure about junior schools. Their IT departments would know, I guess.

Sorry for being so useless. I’m sure somebody else will come along who knows better.

Hi There,

Indeed that can be difficult for youngster one.

Maybe you could ask the parents email and then create an user id based on that. Or ask the parents to do it.
There is an option with facebook account too.

Once they have a memrise id you can invite them in your teaching group based on their memrise id.

enjoy !
