Is there anyway you guys could make learning difficult words free? It bothers me (and I’m sure other people) that not only do I have to pay money to study words I have trouble with, but also the computer automatically marking words for me to study up on, when I can’t. I really want to learn and get fluent in Japanese, but can’t because words I need to study, I really can’t. I’ve tried websites like Quizlet, but that doesn’t work because I can’t remember the conjugation for the kanji (all I’d be doing is memorizing the word and meaning, instead of how to type it or say it. Plus I have to pay to record my voice, or even add a simple picture to help me remember), saying it outloud helps a little, but I just memorize the word instead of word, meaning, AND pronunciation, and I never have anything for the mems. All I ask for is for the difficult words section to be free.

Why don’t you try AnkiSRS and the Memrise2Anki importer?
There is a support forum, and there is a bigger manual explaining the many features the Windows application has.
As a workaround, you could create your own ‘unlisted’ course and add your problem words to it as and when they arise. You can then practice them as often as you like and delete them when they are no longer a problem. That should keep the size of the list manageable. It’s what I do.
