There appears to have been some sort of upgrade in the last 24 hours which has broken the way difficult words are accessed.
It used to be that a red button would appear with the number of difficult words in brackets. That has disappeared and so the only way of accessing difficult words is through the MORE button.
However, this doesn’t work either! The icon/button is disabled. As can be seen in this screen shot, there are two (2) difficult words but the icon/button is grayed-out:
This is extremely frustrating. I’m learning Portuguese and the difficult words feature is literally the only perk I get with Pro. Portuguese doesn’t have learning with locals, chatbots or grammarbot. If this isn’t fixed quickly, I will have no reason to continue with Pro.
This is just another dumb “feature”. I haven’t tested enough to confirm with certainty, but if you have less than 3 difficult words, then you are not permitted to do them. Get some more difficult words, and it’ll let you do them. So stupid and annoying. Memrise needs to stop changing stuff for the sake of change.
I cant even do a classic review and that’s the feature that i always use to practice, like 3 or 4 times per day but now it’s dissabled, i dont wanna learn new words yet, but this is really frustrating.
Any news? Now i have to be a pro member to do a classic review? I’m from Mexico, sorry if my english its not perfect.
I can see what they’re trying to do by the changes that they made. Essentially, they’re forcing you to learn the way they want you to learn. For example, they don’t want you to practice difficult words until the number of words has accumulated to five or more. Once that happens, the “Up Next” will change to “Difficult Words”.
Similarly, the Classic Review function will either take you to the few words that need to be revised, or it will default to whatever you’ve set for review (in my case, it’s 25 words).
That’s all good and well, but I DON’T WANT TO LEARN THAT WAY! I want to be able to practice the difficult words (I’m a Pro member) when I want, not when they think I should do so!
Yes. And that’s the stupidest thing a “teacher” would do. Looks like those guys at Memrise know NOTHING about learning (and teaching). At that point, that’s pathetic.
