Is it possible to delete my mems from within the app? I only found the option on this website after creating a profile.
Also, getting to this point of posting has been one of the most infuriating experiences of my life. I found a support page that told me I could delete mems from my profile page, which I thought was in the app because the memrise website doesn’t exist as far as Google results are concerned (App app app, get this app, only app…app). Opening the memrise website just opens the app. I finally found the direct link to forums and clicking on “login”…just opens the frigging app! And nothing happens in the app once opened. I had to delete the app just to be able to post this message. And right now I can’t see what I’m typing because the virtual keyboard pushes the text window up. I…I want an ice cream…
You can only delete mems from your profile…I use phone browser to go to memrise website and it always asks me if I want to use app or browser… I choose browser
Well yeah, but it also asks whether your choice of action would be for just once or always. And if you choose “always” then you won’t be prompted anymore. So if you choose “open in app” the first time then it will always open in app later. Pretty sure there’s a workaround, sadly not knowledgeable enough to know it.
How about typing the link Memrise.com manually in browse?
That can be frustrating indeed! I my case, my phone does open the website, although I can also set it to use the app (where nothing happens in case of opening a website). It is possible that your defaults are (accidentally) set to open the app for certain webpages, rather than the browser. I am using the Chrome browser from the Play store, and do not have this issue. Did you try the Chrome browser?
There is also in a possiblilty to reset some ‘default application’ setting on Android in Settings-> (General ->) Default Applications (depends a little on the Android version what it is called and under which item it resides)
