I had about 5 courses. I decided to work with a new course, so deleted them all.
4 courses are permanently gone, but one course KEEPS COMING BACK.
I’ve hit the delete button on that course a billion times, but every time I go back to the site, it’s right there again.
Is this an early Halloween thing, or am I doing something wrong here.
Did you join any ‘groups’ at all? If so, this thread may be helpful: How to quit course you tried and didn’t like?
No, I never joined any groups. This course still keeps coming back. How do I get rid of it?
It’s the course “100 most popular Spanish verbs”. Every single time I open up memrise, it’s back. I’ve successfully deleted 4 other courses, that I’d added the exact same way as this course, so I don’t know what the problem is with this course.
This one?
Yes, that’s the one.
I’ve hit both the “Quit” button under options and the “Quit Course” button on the course itself.
There’s something odd about it. I’ve just joined it and planted the first five items in Level 1 but it didn’t save what I had learned.
I’ll play around with it a bit more.
Hi @wembar,
Ok, I did the first five items again and it saved them this time. It’s possible, I didn’t hit the “Next” button the first time round.
I quit the course from my list of Spanish courses pinned to my home page (via the 3 grey dots) and it deleted ok. I rejoined the course and then quit it via the options button in the course itself and that deleted ok, too. I logged out and back in again and there was no sign of the course.
If there’s not a ‘group’ connection, I can’t think what else might be causing it to stick around on your course list.
@Joshua, could you take a look at this one when you have a minute, please? Thanks!
Yes. When I hit delete on the course. Close the Memrise browser. Open the memrise browser again (automatic logon), it’s right there again. Does it have anything to do with the fact that it was the very first course I ever picked? Is there an admin that could remove this course for me?
Oh wow. I just figured it out and feel ridiculously stupid. Huge apologies to everyone that spend any time looking at this problem. When I bookmarked memrise, I apparently bookmarked it with this course open. So this course was in the link. So, so, so sorry everyone.
I’m still experiencing this problem. I’ve deleted on both desktop version of the site and on the app - but still the courses keep reappearing.
Hi @pye_laoshi,
Did you join any groups in the past? If so, Joshua’s advice in this other topic may help:
Hi @pye_laoshi I had the same problem on and on. I figured out that there is simple solution. On the homepage on your right side you can see a button with filter results. Klick on it and take the one with goal sets (see printscreen) I hope this will help you.
Did you join any groups in the past? If so, Joshua’s advice in this other topic may help:
Hi @pye_laoshi, you’ve created 8 different groups which contains a fair amount of courses within them.
Here are some screenshots.
Seeing as you’re the creator of the group, you’re unable to quit your own group. The only option you have is to delete the group. Which isn’t the best solution, as you have a couple of members within your group.
However, what you can do is, create a new account for the purpose of groups. Join all the courses again with the new account and create all the groups in this account. Then you can invite the previous members of the old group to the new group, and if you no longer want to be included in the group leave yourself out,
