Deleted Attribute Information Showing Up In Only One Level Of Course?

This is a strange issue that I don’t understand. I am not sure if it is a bug, or just something really, really weird. Here is the scoop:

I originally created a course with 3 columns. The first 2 are regular columns with Mandarin Characters and English definitions, respectively. The third was an attribute column with Zhuyin characters. The course worked great at that point. Like a lot of my courses, this one was unlisted. Then it was suggested to make this a public course, so I deleted the Zhuyin attribute column and added a pinyin attribute column in its place (since Zhuyin seems to only be favored here in Taiwan, others prefer pinyin). I also added a ton of more levels and words. There are now 90 levels, 75 of which are filled with data (the others waiting to be filled). The columns are now Mandarin Characters, English Definitions, and pinyin. The course is public, and I can access it on the web version, Android and iOS. So far so good.

The issue though is that all the words and all the levels work as expected EXCEPT one level. Level 2, where I see data for Mandarin, English and Zhuyin (not Mandarin, English, pinyin). ALL other levels are Mandarin, English, pinyin. I ONLY see this issue with Level 2 during a review session. In Preview mode it is Mandarin, English, pinyin. In the database it is Mandarin, English, pinyin. But in review mode it is Mandarin, English, Zhuyin - and ONLY on the iOS version. It is Mandarin, English, pinyin on the web version, and the Android version in review mode.

Why is the iOS version different from the web version and the Android version, and why only one level out of so many ? That is what I don’t understand.

I have triple checked the database and there are no Zhuyin characters. I have deleted and re–installed the iOS app several times. I have powered off and on my iPad. Still the issue exists, and still for only that one level. I have also tried the old trick of changing the course from “public” to “unlisted” and then back to “public” but I still see the issue. I don’t know what else to do.

There are other users on this course, so I am afraid if I change the level 2 information they might lose their word counts, but I need to get rid of this issue somehow. I just don’t know how. Anyone ever seen such an issue before, and if so, how did you eliminate it ? How can information display differently on just one level among many others, and on just iOS and not Android or web ? This is really odd…

I am on Memrise iOS 2.1.16 (2141) and iOS 9.3.2 on an iPad Air 2.

Many thanks for any insight or assistance anyone can offer.

This issue is very odd and I can’t guess at the cause. I wonder what would happen if you reach out to the other users of the course. If they are experiencing the same issue then that might help yourself and the team diagnose the issue.

@DrewSSP ~ thank you for the response. I guess you read my mind. I too was thinking of putting a note in the course forum and see if I get any responses from the users. But I was going to try one more thing first. Thanks for your help ! We’ll see how this goes…

@DrewSSP ~ what an ordeal ! After a lot of trial and tribulation, I was finally able to get this rectified. I think it is somehow related to a lot of the database issues that many of us have been facing of late, but it is hopefully behind me now and I am on to bigger and better things. Have a good day !
