DE LIJN or HET LIJN?

In one of the Dutch courses I am looking after, “lijn” is given as being a “het” or “de” word.

From what I have found so far (Babla Dutch, Wikipedia on google.nl/nl, vandale gratis), “lijn” is a “de” word, not a “het” word.

Anybody Dutch out there can help me?

Yes, it’s “de lijn”.

I also double-checked online, using: https://www.welklidwoord.nl
There it also says “de”.

Native Dutch (Flemish) speaker here. It’s definitely ‘de lijn’.

Thanks everyone for the feedback! The entry has been rectified now.

Whilst checking the database, I found this entry, “de / het soort”.

Is this also correct?

Yup, that’s the one!

The entry is correct but it is a bit more complicated. For most uses it is “het” (or “de”) but when it is a biological specie it is “de”.
