how do you say this? is there any word for this beyond the “natural suspect” bike + way = 自行车道 [自行車道] zìxíngchēdào ?
Yes it is written as 自行車道 and pronounced as zì xíng chē dào (at least here in Taiwan). As a matter of fact, we recently took a bike ride on a local trail and I took a picture of the map on the sign for the trail and it included all 4 of these characters. (This is the Traditional character set. Not sure what the Simplified is, since we don’t use it here).

and what is the most common denomination for interior designer, and for surfing (on water), please, please, please? for interior designer i find that 室内设计师 designates both the interior design, and the designer?

设计师 is designer in general, with 室内 it becomes interior designer.
室内设计 is interior design. 室内设计师 is interior designer.
