Creator's courses stopped updating

Can someone address the issue of creator’s courses having stopped updating on the app since yesterday.

This issue has been discussed in this thread but since no official comment has been made from the memrise staff I decided to put it here.
http://community.memrise.com/t/not-all-levels-of-the-course-are-shown-in-android-memrise/?source_topic_id=3447

New words and levels do not load on the device since yesterday. The word count seems to show the correct amount of words but the newly added words are not accessible from the app. Refreshing, logging out and reinstalling the app do not have any effect — I still get the course in the state I had it 2 days ago with no changes I have done since then.

I should add that I have been working on my course for the last 2 weeks and everything was fine and all the words were syncing perfectly before yesterday.

I have this issue on both my apple devices with different versions of memrise. And it seems like the Android app has the same problem.

We are counting on your help. Thanks!

Exactly same issue here. It’s a pretty serious defect.

I wonder whether they have any automated testing in place at all, not to have picked up on such a serious regression. :astonished:

It got broken in v 2.1.24 (3176)

@mike.mcgowan.75, @dulenin ~ same issue for me. It was working fine just 2 days ago.

My newly created course of 285 items works fine on the web version, but has only 1 item on the iOS app. Since I learned the first 5 items on the web version, the iOS app now says I have completed the entire course (which of course only contains 1 of the 285 items). This is one of the strangest bugs I have ever seen on Memrise.

Taking a wild stab here, but 2 days ago I updated to iOS 9.3.4. I wonder if that might be part of the issue. Anyone else on that release ?

(I doubt it is an iOS issue, but thought it might be worth mentioning just the same).

I guess it has nothing to do with the operating system or app version but with the syncing mechanism of memrise.

@Dulenin ~ I believe so as well…

Thanks for writing this thread. I have this issue with android. But everything is working fine with the browser.

@MariaMller ~ That’s the best indication that this is probably a syncing issue. If one only used the web version, one would not even be aware that there is an issue with either of the app versions.

Yes, I totally agree. We had issues with the app several times this week (my boyfriend also with memrise-created courses), it did not show anything several times and didn’t save the review sessions in our home network (at uni it worked again). Since the memrise updates, the app works again, but the newly created levels are not shown :unamused:

I’m just doing all my learning on the web version for now, and then hopefully that will carry over to the app version once they resolve the issue. I am also continuing to create new courses, and expand existing ones, again expecting that to be okay with the app version once they resolve the issue. Life (and learning) needs to go on, despite the temporary technological setbacks.

I feel like we are having a support group here, guys. Fingers crossed they will get down to this issue soon.

Hello all, and thank you for your patience.

Our developers went into a caffeine fuelled frenzy trying to figure out and resolve this issue. A fix rolled out a few minutes ago, so all of your course content will now be synced with the mobile apps.

Happy learning
Beatrice

All the levels are back. At least in my Android App

Yes-yes. I was jumping like a little girl when I saw that all my new words are back! And headed straight here!

Thanks for all you guys! Good job, developers! And keep on memrising!

Wonderful ! All is well again in course creation-land (on the iOS app) ! Kudos to caffeine-fueled devs. :coffee:

Works for me too. Thank you!
