Currently Mems need to be uploaded while you are in a session. This is often a horrendous way of doing things since when you are doing a session you want to focus on learning whatever the course is teaching. It would be a better way to add a way for users and course creators to upload mems in the vocabulary list. That way you can spend time dedicated to uploading mems.

the option to see other peoples mems is back. Use it!

edit: looking at your profile, you seem to learn in private courses, and seem to believe that mems are just photos depicting some concrete notions, of the type “photo people smiling” for some translation of “smile”. Mems are not mere photos. However, for images you can add a column “Images”, look for “add column” when you’re on the database page.
