Courses made by @islanderkwan

I hope that @islanderkwan finds the way here (@Lien, you’re around, mylady?)

many thanks for your courses, which are a blessing mostly because of their clear audio.

just a tiny note: sometimes the lack of disambiguation is maddening. For example, in the Advanced Routledge (https://www.memrise.com/course/1777720/the-routledge-advanced-chinese-multimedia-course/) the user is prompted with “immediately, at once”. Only 立即 is accepted, 马上 or 当下 or 立时 of course not… The same situation for “seems” (here 仿佛),“part” (部分) etc.
But until one got to “advanced routledge”, one learned quite a number of “beginner’s words” such as “at once, immediately, as if, seems”… how should the user know which one of those, every time for each different course…

Hi @Hydroptere,

At your service :sunglasses:

I invited the course creator to this thread, hoping we’ll soon get company.

Please remind me if we have yet to hear back in a week’s time.

Speak soon,

Lien

Hi there!
This course really was just intended for my personal use, but I’m glad you are finding it useful!
I really just copied the vocabulary from the Advanced Routledge textbook onto there and recorded audio for them.

As in all languages, there are many words with similar or overlapping meanings, so I’m not sure how you would be able to differentiate them. The Advanced Routledge textbook does tend to use the more formal versions of the words, so if you’re choosing between two phrases, I suppose that could help. Otherwise, I think you will probably just have to use the textbook.

Hope that helps!
