Course search seems not to work at all

Using Firefox on OS X. Also tried Chrome on OS X, same result.

I go to Courses and type a search term in the box at lower right, then click the search button.
Page reloads, with exactly the same courses as were showing before, none matching my search terms.

For example, http://www.memrise.com/courses/english/?q=hebrew+from+scratch
None of the courses shown have “Hebrew” or “scratch” or even “from” in their names.

the search did not work for the whole last week or more… Unfortunately.

If we only use two keywords, it seems like we get some pretty good results:

Something is weird here, yes.

It seems it searches for ANY of the given words in course names and descriptions.
And since “from” is a very frequent word, it shows lots of courses.

Oh! Thanks, that explains it, but that’s really buggy. Especially since I tried the same search with quotation marks around the phrase, “Hebrew from scratch”, and it did the same thing. Now I know how to work around it in some cases, though this workaround won’t apply to all searches. And it’ll certainly confuse people who don’t know about this and make them think search doesn’t work at all, so they won’t try it again (since most users aren’t on this forum).

Yeah! I type in Arabic and see spanish

Me too…trying to search for a course I created using another account and it is impossible!

I even tried putting search terms in quotes…no luck…

I can’t even find Arabic among the list of courses??
