From the Home tab, if you tap the “…” icon next to any course in the list of active courses, the floating dialog that appears (containing course options) is displayed off-screen. This means that none of the options can be selected.
This happens every time and is present in the web version of Memrise on iPad 4.
Not on iPad it doesn’t. Zooming out (pinching) beyond the screen width results in the tab view being displayed. I believe the same sort of limitation applies on mobile (you can’t zoom out any further than the main frame width).
I noticed this on Android a long time ago. It’s a problem with Firefox, but not with Chrome.
There are some key differences I have observed between how the Memrise webpages work under different browsers on Android.
In Firefox
audio from the course will stop dead any other audio happening on the device
sticky accent keys eg. Pressing ‘ followed by e to get é works perfectly well
can’t see the course options box no matter what you do
can´t see the ‘save and exit’ button properly when you want to stop half-way through a session – it’s nearly off the screen
In Chrome
Audio from the course will dim background audio , eg. Pandora, but does not usually stop it (although it does sometimes – seems to depend on how long the audio from Memrise goes for)
Sitcky accent keys just stick and are applied to all following characters – it’s a real pita, and the only reason I can’t use Chrome all the time.
Can see the course options
Can see the ‘save and exit’ button
So I use Firefox because of the sticky keys issue, and switch to Chrome when accented characters are not an issue.
NONE of these issues occur with using any browser on a Windows PC, and sorry I don’t use any i-things so I can’t say whether changing browser would work or not.
bit i’m NOT using firefox as fas I know
i use firefox on my desktop, and i don’t think that gives me a problem
my tablet does not have firefox
it has chrome
it’s android
