Course hangs

I have to reload several times for the course to give me a question, and then it might (or might not) get to the next question. Makes the course unusable.

Edit: Using up-to-date Chrome, Windows 10. Still happening (2018-02-06)

The Buntús Cainte Irish course I am using is hanging. I can´t get beyond answering the second question without the screen freezing. I am using Chrome also.

I’m seeing the same thing. It’s a javascript error in the “raven.js” used by Sentry.io, which ironically, is for tracking bugs. I’ll repro it again and post the exact error shortly.

Bingo.

raven.js:478 Uncaught TypeError: this.parent is not a function
at initialize (boxes.js:5)
at new i (inheritance.js:15)
at i.make_box (base.js:2)
at i.activate_box (manager.js:2)
at i.advance (manager.js:2)
at base.js:2
at Object.l.fn (jquery.ba-dotimeout.js:254)
at jquery.ba-dotimeout.js:240
at i (raven.js:474)

https://d2rhekw5qr4gcj.cloudfront.net/dist/js/raven.js is the file causing the problem, but from what I can tell in the actual code in my console:

// NOTE: If you are a Sentry user, and you are seeing this stack frame, it
// means Raven caught an error invoking your application code. This is
// expected behavior and NOT indicative of a bug with Raven.js.

So looks like a bug in Memrise, then. I’m reporting it here just in case they see it there before they see this thread. http://feedback.memrise.com/knowledgebase

I just reported the Audio freezing on Listening Skills on 2 different courses (; Hacking Turkish 1 and Dutch 1 ) using Firefox or Google Chrome, both of which are up-to-date.

Not sure if this is the same thing, but I’ve had multiple courses hanging during learning sessions last night and this morning. I enter or pick an answer, it highlights as correct, but the course doesn’t switch to the next item. Clicking “next” doesn’t help, nor does pausing and continuing. The only option is picking “save and exit”, and then starting over. Granted, nothing is lost in the process, but it’s annoying nevertheless. Watering/reviewing sessions don’t seem to be affected.

I am currently experiencing this today, as well.

The program will not continue after a correct answer, and the next button will simply not work. Enter, clicking on it, etc… all fail to do anything.

today the spanish course “intemediate spanish 19: the future” is hanging a lot. Will do one or two examples, then I click to continue, and it hangs.

Same issue here. Last night and this morning in multiple courses, multiple attempts, start off OK then after a few questions the course hangs. Have tried many times, including logging out then back in again, turning off my computer, but nothing helps. I think you have a problem - I know I have.

I am experiencing hanging in all four of my Spanish courses. It only hangs when I attempt to “LEARN.” However, all other features are responding quite sluggishly. As others have posted the problem has been occurring for the last 2 days.

Since I just renewed my subscription two days ago, I wonder if there is some relation??

Signed on today and problem was solved in my case. Hope it´s working again for others, too. Anyway, thanks to “Bug Team” for fixing it so quickly!:star_struck:

I’m experiencing the exact same thing… :frowning:

Add me too. Any word from team on when this will be fixed? It’s stopping me getting through the paid content.

Windows 10, both Chrome and Edge having same issue.

Just jumping on the chorus that this is affecting me too. Does anyone know if the coders have seen the bug reports yet? If not, is there a place to report user-facing errors to give them higher priority? In any case, I hope it is resolved soon!

me too in German 5. It is actually quite frequent and very annoying.

I had this problem in Dutch 1, too.

No, it’s a bug in their code. It’s happening to lots of people. I reported it to their developers (but did not get a response yet, I don’t know if they regularly respond to this type of bug report).
