[Course Forum] SGJL series - Core 2k/6k Vocabulary Optimized by Charles_Applin35

vi - intransitive verb, usually means no agent (ice cream was eaten, I walked, he stopped, she was tired)

vt - transitive verb, somebody did something to an object (ate icecream, turned off the lights, opened the door)

vs - suru verb. A pseudo noun that has suru verb added to it. Sort of like in English adding -ing to a noun turning it into a verb.

Thanks for the answer and all your work on the SGJL series.

Just in case anyone else has a little bit of trouble getting the Timer Disabler script to work (at least with Tampermonkey). I came across an updated version that worked for me:

Hey @Nukemarine, I was trying to schedule my learning for the rest of the year. Do you think the next four courses (the intermediate) for 2k/6k will be out before the end of 2017?

Yes. They might not have audio uploaded though I’ll share links if others want to do that part. The kanji lessons are already uploaded and grammar lessons in short order.

Ah. I’m mainly interested in the sentence/even levels. It’s much easier for me to learn grammar that way and reinforce grammar. How I’ve done it for my other languages. Maybe I’ll try out the drama courses because those seem to have advanced sentences that would be useful.

Anyhow, thanks for the fast response and all your memrise work!

Hey, @Nukemarine

I don’t know if this is something you can control in relation to the new update, but now if I type sentences, I get marked down for skipping commas and periods. Do you have the course set to strict typing?

It shouldn’t be that way. I’ll check on it. Any course in specific?

It was the update, and I got it sorted. Thanks!

However, I have a question whether you’ve enabled English sentences after Japanese audio tests. For instance, before the update two days ago, if I typed a sentence after being read the Japanese audio (for the 2k/6k courses), under the flower it would show the English translation. Now this is what happens.

Of course, if memrise were functioning properly, I could click ā€œsee answerā€ to make sure I’ve translated it properly in my head, but now I’ll be marked wrong if I do so.

RE: Audio issue – deleted because I realised Memrise is having one of its moments… again. (Still stands about the sentence translations.)

Hi again Nukemarine. It’s been several months since my last query so I thought I’d bug you again for an update. Any news on availability of SGJL 17-20, 22-25 and 27-38?
Thanks for what you’re doing.
