i suspect “diversificado” is more like “diversified” (btw, feminine diversificada is missing)

and the English “diverse (= varied)” is more like “variado, variada”

the lessons dedicated to “politics” in the 5th course are a disaster

so one has to know how to speak about US politics (congresso, conservative party and president of Brazil etc), but has no idea about the Portuguese parliament (“Assembleia da República” etc etc) ??? I beg your pardon

not to mention how hillarious the “há um rei nos Estados Unidos?
is there a king in the United States?
não há um rei ou rainha nos Estados Unidos
there is no king or queen in the United States” sound

further:
it’s a deal! = negócio fechado!; i’d say I heard many things to it’s a deal, “de acordo”, “está combinado” “temos um acordo”… etc, negócio fechado was rather absent from conversations

There seems to be an error in one of the meet the natives videos. (European Portuguese 3) The speaker is clearly saying “Sou vegetariano” but I am offered “preciso de comprar um chapéu novo” as the answer. Sorry I am new to this so haven’t taken a screen shot

You refer to “ceiling = tecto”, right?

You are right, as this does need to be fixed (and I just did it!).
But this wasn’t exactly a typo. Actually, that was the old way of spelling “teto” in European Portuguese, prior to the Portuguese Orthographic Agreement, which became effective 2 years ago (you can learn more about it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portuguese_Language_Orthographic_Agreement_of_1990).

Hi,
I’ve found a mistake in the course Portuguese (Portugal) 5, Level 20.

The phrase “or else …” is pronounced “ou alguém mais”, but spelled “señao …”:

Hello everyone! In Portuguese (European) 3 by Memrise, I encountered the above word. But according to the Acordo Ortográfico de 1990, silent “p” should be eliminated, so Egypt should be written as “Egito”, which is the spelling RTP and Expresso uses. I’m still not entirely clear on how consistent the orthography of Portuguese is kept throughout Portugal, so your thoughts on this would be appreciated!
