[Course Forum] Italian Level from 0 - A1 - A2, FULL AUDIO by ChiewPang

@sonoaleida Grazie di nuovo! Spanish interference again - I keep doing it, even in the exams. :cry: At least the audio is correct! :grin: As usual youā€™d need to log out and in since Memrise has steadfastly refused to introduce a force-sync feature. :rage:

Chiew

Yep, that Spanish interference is hard for me to shake off too. I was glad to see that today, when ā€œdining roomā€ came up for review, the correct ā€œsala da pranzoā€ appeared in the choices without my having to log outā€¦maybe Memrise has instituted the force-sync feature after all?

Aleida

@sonoaleida maybe you were luckyā€¦
Iā€™ve made changes, for example, changing or adding audios, adding/removing/editing mems, etc and weeks later, the changes were still nowhere to be experienced. Until I logged out. Iā€™ve suggested many improvements over the years and Iā€™ve practically given up. I donā€™t know if youā€™ve got the latest ridiculous thing theyā€™ve done but I hope it doesnā€™t get to see the light of day. It really upsets me that instead of doing productive things to improve the learning experience for everyone, they waste time tinkering with things that work and make them worse, adding more colours and fancy stuff which donā€™t do anything at all except perhaps thrill kids who get all excited over new colours and iconsā€¦

Hi Chiew,

Itā€™s me again with a typo for you to correct in level 79: ā€œcamariereā€ should have been ā€œcameriereā€ in ā€œWaiter, can you bring me a napkin and a knife, please?ā€

Thanks,

Aleida

@sonoaleida Iā€™m indebted to you. Spanish interference again! :rage: Promptly done.

very promptly doneā€¦:slightly_smiling_face: it just came up for review, and it was already correctedā€¦thanks

@sonoaleida I donā€™t know how you manage to get it. Whenever I modify something (as opposed to adding something), the changes are not synchronised UNTIL I log out and back in again.

Iā€™ve bitched about this for several years but, of course, Iā€™ve been totally ignored. And the additional annoying thing is the act of logging out and in results in the configuration back to the default. Some things about Memrise are so so so bad but they donā€™t care and prefer to go on adding the colourful and distracting bells and whistles that no-one wants.

Itā€™s so unfair that as the course creator Memrise makes you jump through log out hoops and I, the mere student, am spared that hassle. :pensive:

Hi Chiew,

Can you please do something about ā€œ(to) pick upā€ which appears in Level 87 as ā€œpassare a prendereā€ and again in Level 90 as ā€œraccogliereā€? Itā€™s one of those where I have to guess which one you want, and I donā€™t always guess rightā€¦:disappointed:

Thanks,

Aleida

@sonoaleida Lucky for me that they have coincided for you; they havenā€™t for me. Iā€™ve made some adjustments - see if theyā€™re good enough. Grazie!

Iā€™ll let you know what happens when it comes up for reviewā€¦thanks :hugs:

wouldnā€™t you know itā€¦it just showed up, and I was able to get it right
thanks to your helpful fixšŸ˜„

@sonoaleida :sunglasses: :grin:

Hi Chiew,

Itā€™s me againā€¦this time experiencing difficulties with Level 91. In these two expressions, it is not clear that the plural form is required:

did you stay (for) long?
and then what did you do?

I got them both wrong when they came up for review because I used the ā€œtuā€ formā€¦:flushed:

Can you make it clear that you want the ā€œvoiā€ form as the correct response?

Thanks,

Aleida

@sonoaleida Fatto! Grazie! :hugs:

Thanks for the quick response and the quick fixā€¦:slightly_smiling_face:

Hi Chiew,

Both the audio and the written forms are given as (il) spogliatoioā€¦https://www.memrise.com/course/696252/beginners-italian-0-a1-a2-full-audio/94/

Shouldnā€™t it be (lo) spogliatoio?

Aleida

@sonoaleida, certo! hai ragioneā€¦ come sempre! Fatto!

Grazie mille!

and not a moment too soonā€¦it just came up for review with the correct sound fileā€¦thanksā€¦:hugs:

Aleida

Hi Chiew,

me again with a small spelling error for you to correct: sbatutto >> sbattuto in the sentence:
ā€œho sbatutto la testa contro la portaā€
