The translation of the Portuguese expression “uma loja”, sometimes appears as “a store” and sometimes as “a shop”. This leads us to error. We can not know if the correct answer is A “a store” or “a shop”.

I’ve tried to find an easy and direct distinction between those words for American English, and the option was to translate “a shop” as “uma loja (menor)” and “a store” as “uma loja (maior; de departamentos)”.
This must solve the confusion when being tested about any of these words.

Just updating it here:
After discussing about this point, we decided to exclude “a shop” from this American English course.
Now, we only have “a store” as “uma loja”.

There is a bug in English level 1 lesson 8.
The text in Portuguese is wrong. Where is “Ele está um pouco triste porque não tem uma namorada” (He’s a little sad because he doesn’t have a girlfriend) the correct form is “Ele está um pouco triste porque você está irritado” (He’s a little sad because your’re angry). I’m attaching a print screen of my cellphone which contains the referred bug.
@IgCostaBR I found this old question from @nftx-adr88 from another thread. Is this bug fixed? I couldn’t find an answer

Tbh, I didn’t remember fixing that. But I’ve just checked the current American English course and it does have the correct translation (i.e. “ele está um pouco triste porque você está irritado”).
When was this issue posted?
@nftx-adr88, could you please confirm if this is already fixed in your app? If not, you may have to log-off and log-in again. You won’t lose your daily progress and learned words.

Do you have 2 or 4 types of English course for Portuguese speakers?
@Atikker, currently, two of them:
British English for PTBR Speakers:

Also, European Portuguese Speakers are still being redirected to the old “English A1” course, as the new ones are still not localized to that market. We will look into it.

Você tem razão. Provavelmente o engano se deu quando fizemos a conversão do curso de inglês britânico ao inglês dos EUA (no inglês britânico, “entrée” significa entrada mesmo: https://dictionary.cambridge.org/pt/dicionario/ingles/entree).
