If HSK level 3 ends at 1180, why does this course begin from 2026?

Are you referring to the levelsā names? Those levelās are so named because the creator of the course made the database for the course first, then created the levels of the course using the Create Levels feature. This feature takes every word from the database and automatically splits them into levels that each contain a number of words that you chose. In this courseās case, that was 280 levels of 15 words each. The feature automatically names the levels based on how many words exist in the levels before each one.
Fast forward to less than one year agoā¦ The learners and curators of this course realised that the course had many radicals in the last 10 levels, which were being learned after they were needed. Normally this course gives the components of the characters before you learn the whole character but for some reason this wasnāt the case for things that were in the last 10 levels. So what they did was take those last ten levels and moved them to the beginning of the course. The names were not changed because the names of all 280 levels would then need to be changed as well.
So in short, the āLevel 1: 2026 - 2040ā that you see does not continue from HSK 3. It continues from the last level in this course, named āLevel 280: 2011 - 2025 (Pronunciation)ā
ē¬¦ - One word answers arenāt accepted any longer. You now have to type āto seal, mark, tallyā.
Cheers
fixed!

Thanks. Youāre doing a great job that should not be done.
äŗęÆ - commas are messing up this one too - single answers arenāt accepted.
And one more comma disaster - čå“
I am have a bit of trouble finding the issues in those two most recent ones but I did do a bit of cleanup on them. Hopefully it fixed the issue.
Hi Robbie: To add to Danny1ās list, ē will only accept both ācountenance, appearanceā together and äø will only accept āobstruction of breath, qi togetherā. Many thanks, no hurry.
Robbie, one more detail. At level 117, ę£® and ę£®ę (which both mean āforestā) often both appear as possible answers in the same multi-choice question, (so, at best, one only has a 50/50 chance of selecting the right correct answer). Thanks!
Iām not sure whether Robbie can help, but I sure can.
Your problem with ę£® seems to be a bug in Memrise that Iāve encountered once before. I made a change but I am not sure it fixed the issue entirely. Please let me know if it persists. If you do encounter it, please also let me know whether you saw it again on ę£®, ę£®ę, or both.
The problem with ē is now fixed.
Hi - Iāve had this issue for a long time and posted about it on Memriseās generic technical issues page but had no fix, so trying here. Memes no longer appear when learning new words on the app for this course. They only appear when reviewing memes. Error started a few months ago. Iām using iPhone 6.
ē Level 253 Pinyin stated to be NI4 or BING4. However, my web research on Kangxi radical 104 indicates it should be NE4 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kangxi_radical) or CHUANG2 (http://www.xiaoma.info/bushou.php?rad=104&fhz=äæę&fpy=yu2&fdef=big). I can find no references at all to the stated Memrise Pinyin. If you agree with me, are you able to change? Many thanks.
wiktionary also seems to confirm this. However, the most character that I know of that contains this radicial is ē , which is pronounced bing4, so maybe thatās what Ben was drawing off of.
Honestly, if the pinyin for ē is ne4 or chuang2, I think it might be better to just delete that entry from just the level that teaches its pinyin, because the pinyin of the radical doesnāt seem to me to be closely related to the pronunciation of the characters that use the radical.
Deleting pronunciation entry sounds like a good solution. Many thanks.
Firstly, it was I that added the pinyin for that radical:
Secondly, I am extremely wary about deleting or altering these HSK courses. Although, it must be done. We need to remember the thousands of people that have gone before us who learnt these words and made mems for them. Altering isnt easy and decisions need to pondered upon before action is taken. (as you guys are doing now.)
I suggest for now that we just add the extra alt of ne4. This is the least harmful method.
I am, was, plan to continue adding pinyin and audio to all the radicals but it is a large task. I will ask around (Iām in China), exhaustively check dictionaries and come up with the correct (hopefully) pinyin, If you guys would allow me some time.
As a footnote I would like to suggest that people take the Kanxi radical list with āa pinch of saltā. It is by no means perfect nor completely used by all dictionaries and sometimes even altered, even though it is the standard āgo toā for most dictionaries and computer systems.
