[Course Forum] GCSE AQA GCSE French by immyjen

I am really enjoying this course, but there are a few niggles (words with the same definition, for example). Is there a way of contacting Immyjen?

Hello @WatsonandtheShark, I know you’ve put the title there but it helps if you include a link to the course. As far as contacting Immyjenn, It appears that he/she is not on the Forum. I’ll tag Lien here … @Lien - hopefully she can make contact with Immyjenn on your behalf.

Dear Maxine_Downunder, Thank you for your assistance. Here is the link to the course in question: https://www.memrise.com/course/260100/aqa-gcse-french-4/ .
Best wishes,

Thanks @WatsonandtheShark. I can’t help you myself with this, but someone from Memrise should be able to contact the creator of this course on your behalf. @Lien, can you please help out here. Thanks.

I have emailed immyjen, hopefully we’ll hear back soon.

Hi @WatsonandtheShark,

I’m glad you’re enjoying and making good use of the course. I’m a bit new and confused about the recent changes to the memrise set up but I think I’ve got the hang of it now!

I’ll take another look at the course to see if I can spot the particular items that are bothering you, but as you probably know it’s quite a big course and as I myself am not using it to learn it can be a bit tricky to spot every glitch! On that note, is there anything specific that you can point me to? Letting me know the level number and item would be really helpful.

As for words with the same definition – that annoys me too! I’m sure memrise used to not mark a word wrong if it was a synonym but I’ll do my best check that I’ve entered the vocabulary correctly.

Hi immyjenn,
I’m glad to see that you are updating your course for the new specification - it is really great to have just one course for all the vocab. I know it’s a huge course so it might be difficult, but could I ask that you don’t delete any words that might not be in the new spec, and just add the new words?
Thanks.

OK, thanks for your help. Only a minor question.

Hi gloverh!

I am actually still on memrise but haven’t got the hang of this forum thing – it just occurred to me that I’d better check it…

Yes, as you say I am making my way through the course and updating it as best I can, including correcting any errors I come across, but don’t worry! I’m not cutting out any of the existing vocab! If there are words you don’t think are relevant and you want to prioritise your time and not learn them, you can use the ‘ignore’ function.

Hopefully I’ll be more active on here in future to answer any more queries!

Thanks @immyjenn, I find your course really useful! Are you doing the same for your GCSE German course? (That would be really appreciated too!)

I’m glad you’re enjoying the course! And, yes, the plan is to get the German course up to date too

Is there a course forum for AQA GCSE German? I have found an error:
In level 7, both ‘die See’ and ‘der See’ are translated as lake, but ‘die See’ should be sea/ocean instead.

Thank you!

Yes, you are right, I’ll change that now. There’s not a forum for AQA German, it’s generally come as a lower priority than the french one because it has fewer learners and I’m busy working on a post-A-Level advanced German course, but feel free to make one if you would like (because I’m not sure how to!)
