Just writing to thank you for making this course. I am using it to learn element names in English. My native language is Finnish and the connections between the symbol and the name of the element tend to be rarer than in English, since Finnish tends to have its “own” names for the elements rather than have Latin-based names like English has most of the time.

You’re Welcome! I love to learn and I thought I should help people learn with me!

Even though I am a native English speaker, trying my best to learn some Spanish, I understand your problems. Languages have different names for things, and they always do, and it’s really hard to understand the symbols in other languages because IUPAC tends to prefer Latin-based names. While this isn’t too bad in English there are: Sodium, Potassium, Iron, Copper, Silver, Tin, Antimony, Gold, and Mercury, with some of them being worse than others.
