Post for discussing this alternate duolingo support course.

I want to query the sentence from level 19:
"Adamo ofte verŝas akvon en glasojn."
I might be wrong but isn’t ‘glasojn’ in this case an indirect object? If so it shouldn’t have -n on the end.

No, it’s not any kind of object, i.e. it’s not a core argument of the verb verŝas.

It’s part of a prepositional phrase headed by the preposition en, which can have two meanings:

  • “in” (location), in which case it takes the nominative case
  • “into” (destination of movement), in which case it takes the accusative case.

Here, Adamo pours the water into the glasses (the glasses are the destination of the pouring, not the location where pouring takes place inside a glass), so you have en glasojn with the accusative case.
