[Course Forum] Advanced Spanish by Hribecek

dear @Hribecek
there are a number of typos in your course
( https://www.memrise.com/course/1129825/advanced-spanish-words-and-phrases-no-typing/ )

for ex "apurar el pEso = to step it up (the pace) " It should be apurar el PASO

also not, as it is now, holgozanear, but holgAzanear (http://dle.rae.es/?id=KZFw0q0)

also: patineta is more or less Latin American for skateboard, spread in Spain as well, but there people still say patinete, chochecito, monopatín…

also untar = to smear, to smudge, to spead (?); this is to smear, oil, grease anoint

also “el roce” means (proper meaning) friction, rubbing, rub - in figurative sense “clash” is too strong…

also: reflexive verbs are usually given as “to… oneself” (for ex ahorcarse - “to hang oneself” rather than “to hang yourself”)

muchas gracias

(@Lien, would you have the kindness to email the course creator? he is - he because he speaks a lot about Fußball  - active on memrise, but not active in here. Bedankt)

Sure, I pinged him an email!

Hi Hydroptere

Thank you very much for the info about my typos and mistakes.

I’ll get to work on making the changes.

Hribecek

ps. I’ve only just found out about this forum

Done. Thanks again.

The only suggestion I slightly disagree with is the ‘yourself’ to ‘oneself’ one because at least in England everybody would write ‘yourself’ in this context. ‘Oneself’ is very formal. Even so I have changed it to your suggestion for ahorcarse.

Please let me know about other corrections I can make, if you continue with the course.
