Connecting Facebook to view friends

The mobile app tells me to use web to see my leaderboard/friends. I go to web there’s nothing there. I follow no one and there are no suggestions on who to follow. I have 3 followers but I don’t know who they are. I have the option to connect facebook, so I do. It’s initially blocked for being a popup, but i successfully authenticate.

It loads nothing. It looks like it tries to load something when i try to re-authenticate, but looks like it fails to load content inside the box presenting me with a loader for a split second, then nothing. If I have no friends on my facebook account that use memorise, I would recommend a message to the user explaining exactly that, and why don’t you invite them? Not leave the user hanging.

To me this looks broken and deters from the ability to learn with friends.

Mac OS 10.15.7, Chrome latest version.

Hi @LadyChynn,

Thank you for flagging this!

It looks like there is a bug which is preventing Facebook friends from loading. We’ve now raised a bug ticket for this (internal code WEBSITE-2475). I’m afraid I don’t have an expected timeframe for a fix on this, but you can follow updates here: Known Web Bugs- Please read before creating a new thread

In the meantime, if you know a friend’s username, you can find them by typing https://www.memrise.com/user/theirusername in the address bar.

Thanks for your patience,
Memrise team

FWIW, I’ve noticed the Facebook issue, too, but I never bothered to report this simply because I don’t care enough.
I do have Facebook friends who use Memrise though, so it’s definitely an issue.
