Today I noticed that memrise changed the way words are asked for in test, and it seems long sentences or words are now never asked to write out, and are now only asked in a multiple choice test (or tapping/sorting test if enabled).
It can be best seen when learning new words. Earlier one had to make 2 multiple choice tests in each direction and also two times write the word/sentence out to get it completely added to the long term memory words. But long words now have simply to be answered 6 times correctly in multiple choice tests (and/or tapping/sorting tests if they are enabled). The same is true also for words that are repeated after 100 days of not seeing them.
So the words you should really know by now without any hints. And these words are asked in a multiple choice test? thatās ridiculous.
This is a really stupid change and makes learning with memrise again almost useless if you had created courses with not just infinitive forms of verbs.
Where is the sense in multiple choice test at all when it comes to learning? I mean it is nice if you read words for the first time, but after that is just wasting time and no real ātestā. If I could I would completely remove multiple choice tests and make it writing test only.
I really hope this is just a bug! Now I donāt even want to repeat my old words because i donāt want to destroy my watering level of words that i just knew because i was seeing them in in one of the multiple answers. So now i am forced to just not repeat words at all or put a piece of paper or my hand in front of the part where the multiple choice answers are, to not let me see the correct one. Then think about it and then check for myself if i thought of the correct one and look for it in the possible answers. Compare it, and if i had a small mistake in my head, i have to click on purpose something wrong. For this i donāt need Memrise. And not doing this and answering the multiple choice questions correctly is not learning, but a huge lie to myself.
