Carriage return (enter) ignored in mems

(This is bug 3 of 3 for mem formatting: “carriage return (enter) ignored in mems”)

In order to get text onto a second line when creating a mem, the enter key must be pressed twice. While this is visible in the web browser variant (and therefore perhaps ok) on Android you cannot see this requirement as there’s no preview for your mem. So it ends up looking quite different than you expected. It’s inconsistent.

I created the following mem on android. It is supposed to be on 4 lines but instead all blends together making it hard to read. When I typed it on android it was 4 lines.

Actually it turns out the double-enter (2 carriage returns) does work on web but doesn’t work on android at all. It still shows up this way (or my android is not refreshing mems when I re-download the course).

So the way I see it - 2 bugs here:

  1. 2 carriage returns are required (annoying but OK)
  2. Android ignores carriage returns

If anyone knows how to link to a mem, please let me know and I’ll update this with a link to an example mem.

I just don’t bother trying to make mems on my phone. Always had that problem and they look SO CRAP.

SHIFT + ENTER doesn’t do what you’re looking for either, unfortunately. Just thought it worth mentioning. Obviously only an option on PC, but this often does new lines in other applications that I’ve used.
