It sits a while and then gives a triangle saying download problem. Please check your network connection and try again. I tried logging out and in. Uninstalling and reinstalling. Off wifi and on wifi. Nothing works but I can download other courses. It doesn’t say anything about gathering information either like it does when you download other courses.
I emailed the memrise support over a week ago and no response. About to cancel the subscription as this is the only pack I’m using right now.
I am having a similar problem. However I get it on all courses. I recently uninstalled the application, and then installed it again, and when I tried to download courses I couldn`t, as you describe it. The red triangle. Also tried everything. Though I tried it on other devices and it worked. Btw I am one of those people who get offline mode for free because we were here from early enough. This started like a month ago.
@memrisematty please help? This course is literally the only reason I’m paying for this subscription for when I’m traveling and have no wifi.
Solved. I installed Memrise 2.7_3767 apk, it downloaded fine, then I upgraded. You have introduced a defect in the recent versions of the app.
Please note that the app may struggle downloading very large courses (3000+ items) or community courses. We are working to improve the capacity in future updates. We update the app on a weekly basis, so hope to allow the downloading of larger courses in due time 
This is a bug in your new version. Note the version I referenced where the download worked just fine.
