the title pretty much sums it up,I drag the pointer over the purple eye icon scrolling down the page and there is no way to activate the icon…the first 5 words,verbs etc work then again,the purple eye shaped icon will not allow activation…Any ideas…Thankyou…not to mention the no sound randomly…

The purple icon is actually a seed (not an eye). It’s a hangover from the days when Memrise had a garden metaphor (you planted a seed, then watered it until it grew into a flower). Now you just learn an item and review it. 
You can continue learning new items by clicking the green “continue learning” button, which will offer you the next five words to learn.
If you want to open individual item pages, click on the white “options” button, then choose “preview” from the drop down list. You can then scroll through that level, item by item, using the “next” button.
