Cannot learn last word in course to complete

I just “finished” Japanese 2 and I cannot “learn” the last word in the course. When I click on “learn” it says “The page you are trying to get to doesn’t exist. Try heading to your dashboard instead.” It says I have 454/455 words learned, but even if I got to each lesson, I cannot find the final word to be learned which is preventing me from finishing the course.

I’m seeing the same bug in one of my own courses - “1056/1057 words learned”, although I’ve actually learned all the items. At least one other user is also seeing the same bug.

I think I deleted one word a few months ago, so that’s maybe part of the reason.

When this happened to one of my courses it turned out I has a blank entry in my database. The way it was resolved was that I sent in a report and after about two months someone fixed it.

Based on my experience with my own course, I think the course creator (or a contributor) would need to delete the extra item from the course database.

I was able to notice the unwanted item fairly quickly in my course database, because I had not added a sound file for the item. (I only added sound files to the items that actually existed in each level of the course.)

Make your course private for a couple of minutes and then switch the course back to public again. In the past this would fix the problem within 30 minutes or so.

@swampy - Thank you for the tip!

I’ll do that next time this happens - much more efficient than guddling around searching for the problem item in the database.

Thanks for the replies everyone, I’ll try submitting a support ticket and see if that helps. Until them, I’ll keep on doing my reviews to keep that sweet daily streak going

I got exactly the same problem with the course “Tala Svenska A1”. One word is missing to complete the course.
@Annegret-Kati: Could you maybe check your course for some blank entry or something? Thank your very much!
