I have been a long time user of memrise and had also used the function to download courses so I can use it in the offline mode. Last week I decided to go pro, so I can support and fully use all memrise functions.
However I can’t download any new courses, it keeps saying I’m not connected to the network even though it basically downloaded the course. I logged out and back in, which made me lose all downloads. I also deinstalled and reinstalled. The app is on the latest version.
I tried both mobile data and WiFi, both are very stable connections.
Hi, sometimes the application has trouble downloading courses due to some issues with either the course or the phone.
We don’t have a solid solution to fix this issue, but we are fully aware of this issue.
Could you try restarting your device and see if this fixes the issue?
Could you also try changing your device date? Maybe a day forward and reattempt downloading the course. Then change the date back to the original time and try again.
I de and reinstalled again, as well as restart my device multiple times. I also tried with setting the date forward. At first I thought it was just the Spanish Course, but after logging in again, I couldn’t download any of the courses as well.
I only had this problem the second I bought the pro membership, before that I could download them well. It keeps saying “Check for connection”, eventhough my connection (mobile data or WiFi) are all at LTE.
My phone is Huawei P8, if that helps.
I checked for updates but they’re all installed so far.
I’m quite at loss. The offline function is essential for me, as our WiFi often doesn’t work and I’d like to keep my learning up.
They have a 30-day money back guarantee, so you might want to try canceling your membership and see if it fixes the issue. Obviously not an ideal solution, but…
Memrise doesn’t have an app for Windows phones, so I just use the website.
I’d say that the problem probably isn’t widespread, because if it were, there would almost certainly have been an outcry on the forums. However, I’d also guess that the problem isn’t directly related to your brand of phone.
I did a bit of research, and it looks like sometimes apps can install files to your SD card that don’t get deleted when you uninstall the app. If you’re up for some more troubleshooting, could you try removing your SD card and then reinstalling the app and trying to download the courses with the SD card removed? I don’t know if it’ll help or not, but it might be worth a shot
